Congratulations! impact begins here

Congratulations and welcome to IUPUI! You are now just a few steps away from joining our student body, and eventually, the more than 140,000 alumni who make an impact every day all across the world. Here are the next steps you need to take:

Step One

READ YOUR ADMISSIONS PACKET: If you have not already received your admissions packet in the mail, it should be arriving shortly. Be sure to carefully read your offer of admission, as it may contain important stipulations to your admission, as well as scholarship information.

Step two

INFORM US OF YOUR PLANS: IUPUI currently does not require students to pay an enrollment deposit prior to their registration; however, the university still needs to plan for enrollment. Your admissions packet should have included an enrollment plans card. Please return this card to our office informing us as to whether or not you plan to enroll as soon as possible. You can also submit it online right now!

Step three

CREATE YOUR TECHNOLOGY ACCOUNT: Email, student service, signing up for orientation - all of these, and more, require you to sign up for your official university network ID and passphrase. Create your network ID & passphrase (note: you should have your 10-digit university ID number, found on your admissions letter).

Step four

REVIEW YOUR TRANSFER CREDITS: As a transfer student, the final step in the review of your admission was the process of awarding you transfer credit based on courses you took at another college or university. You can review your credits on our student information system, OneStart. Be sure to also review our guide for reading your transfer credit report online.

Step five

SIGN UP FOR ORIENTATION & PLACEMENT TESTS: Depending on your transfer credit, you may need to register for a placement test in Mathematics or English. Additionally, all transfer students must complete a new student orientation. The orientation reservation system opens in October for Spring orientation sessions, and March for Fall. Sign up for your new student orientation & placement test.

Step six

APPLY FOR ON-CAMPUS HOUSING: For many students, living on campus symbolizes the true meaning of student life. The sense of belonging and fellowship that comes with living among a community of peers is unique to college life and embodies what many think of as the college experience. Housing and Residence Life offers students "more than just a place to live" by promoting community life and learning with a variety of programs, events and activities. Apply for housing.

Step six

LEARN ABOUT PAYING FOR COLLEGE: Supporting excellent students is important at IUPUI. We offer a wide variety of scholarships based on students' academic acheivements as well as their community service. Students are also encouraged to learn about paying for college through state and federal financial aid programs. The first step to applying for financial aid, and scholarships is to apply early.

IUPUI is Indiana's premier urban research university. The campus enrolls more than 30,000 students in 21 schools and academic units.
