Starting the Semester off Right

It’s been a great kick-off to the start of the semester here at IUPUI!  Applications are rolling in for spring and fall, and being out on the road always fun. Last week, I was in Monroe County for a college fair, and the interest in IUPUI is the strongest ever.  I talked for two hours straight.  Then I was at the national college fair in Cincy on Sunday spoke to some great students and parents.  And great to hear from alumni who would drop by the table.  It's always good to hear what they are up to these days!

All this interest makes it clear why U.S. News & World Report listed us as the #3 “Up and Coming” National University. We were also noted for our undergraduate engineering programs, first year experiences, diversity, and international students, and added to this, high school counselors included us in the top 100 universities for the second year in a row!

And speaking of high school counselors, it was great to host over 70 counselors from around Indiana at our counselor breakfast last Monday.  Always good to see our colleagues come to campus and talk to them about all the changes going on at IUPUI and within our admissions process.  We were even able to take them around the city on our City Tour Bus!  If you want to see our presentation, you can view it by going here.

Well, off to talk to more great students!  Stay tuned for more later.
