Visiting Students From Other Universities

This information is for students seeking degrees from universities outside of the Indiana University and Purdue University networks who wish to enroll at IUPUI for the summer or a single term.

Before you complete any forms, please consult the undergraduate non-degree students page to make sure we are accepting applications for the term you wish enter. After designated dates, it is too late to use any of these forms.

Visiting students typically enroll for the summer or for a single Fall or Spring term but intend to transfer the course(s) back to their home institution. Permission for continued enrollment requires the approval of the Admissions Center.

Students visiting from Indiana University or Purdue University follow other procedures. Students who wish to transfer to IUPUI on a permanent basis follow another procedure.

Steps for Visiting Students

  1. Review admission requirements.

  2. Talk to your academic advisor at your home campus to identify courses you need.

Your home institution makes the decision on how courses transfer. Most colleges and universities require that you earn at least a grade of "C" in a course for it to transfer.

  3. Review course availability.

  4. Updating Previous Application?

If you have applied to IUPUI within the past 18 months or have enrolled in classes at IUPUI, DO NOT APPLY ONLINE. Instead, click here to submit an application update form electronically. Please note that you must provide most recent grade report or unofficial transcript even if you provided this previously.

  5. Complete application.

Start the application by clicking on the Apply Now button on the upper-left of this page.

  6. Submit Grade Report

Mail or hand-deliver a copy of your most recent grade report. Other options are to have the Office of the Registrar at your current college send a letter stating your cumulative GPA. DO NOT FAX OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS.

After processing your application, Undergraduate Admissions Office will notify you in writing about your admission and the steps to register on-line.

IUPUI is Indiana's premier urban research university. The campus enrolls more than 30,000 students in 21 schools and academic units.
