Non-Degree: Teacher Certification
This information is for students who have a bachelor's degree and wish to be licensed to teach in elementary or secondary education.
Before you complete any forms consult http://www.enroll.iupui.edu/visiting.shtml to make sure we are accepting applications for the term you wish enter. After designated dates, it is too late to use any of these forms.
If you have a teaching license and wish to renew or add to the license you must apply through the School of Education. However, for teachers seeking an additional certification in Drivers Education, please see section A–5. All Purdue, IUPUI and IU bachelor degree holders go directly to section C, skipping both sections A and B.

- For licensed teachers who wish to teach driver's education. You may not apply online for this program.

Print the application and mail or hand carry it in along with the application fee and credentials. (IUPUI, IU and Purdue graduates do not need to pay an application fee nor does anyone who has taken courses at any campus of IU or IUPUI.)

- You must provide a photocopy of your undergraduate transcript showing your degree and cumulative gpa

Whether you apply online or mail an application you must provide an "unofficial" copy of your college transcript. The transcript must show degree conferred and cumulative GPA. An unofficial transcript must accompany your application. If you are admitted, you will be required to submit official transcripts from every college attended. Directions as to where to submit those transcripts will be with your admission letter. Note that you must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA as posted on the transcript for the college awarding your bachelor's degree. If you do not have the required GPA, you are invited to apply for a second bachelor's degree in Education.
