Transfer Students from Ivy Tech

Important Information

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is currently unable to access Ivy Tech’s student information system to access transcripts electronically. Until we reestablish a connection with Ivy Tech’s system, all degree-seeking applicants must request official transcripts to be sent from Ivy Tech to IUPUI. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Before you complete any forms, consult the information for transfer students page to make sure we are accepting applications for the term you wish enter. After designated dates, it is too late to use any of these forms.

Here are the steps to transfer from Ivy Tech - Community College of Indianapolis:

  1. Research our schools for your program of choice. If you are undecided select undecided or exploratory. Do NOT select general studies unless you wish a degree in General Studies. For more information about the General Studies Degree programs, click here.

  2. Meet the Admission Requirements for transfer students.

  3. If you were not admissible to IUPUI as a freshman, you must successfully complete college algebra (or higher), English composition, and three transferable courses in the general education areas of speech, history, sociology, political science, or psychology.

  4. If you completed less than 26 hours of transferable college work, submit an official copy of your high school transcript or GED scores.

  5. You will need to have an official transcript sent to IUPUI from Ivy Tech. If you attended other colleges either before or after enrolling at Ivy Tech, we will need official transcripts from those colleges. Grade reports, faxed copies and photocopies are not official.

  6. If you have applied to IUPUI within the past 18 months or you have enrolled in classes at IUPUI, DO NOT APPLY ONLINE. Instead, click here to update your application electronically.

  7. If item #6 does not pertain to you, complete the on-line application. You are applying as a transfer student. You are either seeking an associate's degree (2-year degree), a bachelor's degree (4-year degree), or a certificate (one-year program).

  8. Please note that submission of an on-line application requires payment of the application fee using a credit card at the time of submission. This fee is non-refundable. If you do not wish to apply online, you may print the application and mail it with a check for $50 payable to IUPUI.

For a list of degrees and complete details regarding admissions, print Important Information for Transfer Applicants. If you have earned an associate's degree from Ivy Tech or Vincennes University or you have earned 45 semester hours at Ivy Tech or Vincennes and you are currently enrolled, you are excused from paying the application fee provided you use the paper application or the PDF application. All online applicants must pay the non-refundable $50 fee.

  9. All applicants must read the Criminal Activity Disclosure policy before applying on-line. Click here to read the policy.

IUPUI is Indiana's premier urban research university. The campus enrolls more than 30,000 students in 21 schools and academic units.
