Complete Your Application

In order to process your application for admission as a transfer student to IUPUI, you will need to make sure that all application materials are sent to the university as soon as possible to ensure your application is reviewed in a timely matter. When applying, you should:

Pay the application fee

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will not accept an application without receiving the $50 application fee. We highly recommend that you apply using our secure online application, and paying the fee with a credit card.

  • Who does not pay the application fee? Students who have registered for and attended classes in a degree-seeking program at an Indiana University or Purdue University campus do not need to pay the application fee. Additionally, students who have completed their associate's degree at Ivy Tech Community College or Vincennes University, or are currently enrolled with at least 45 credit hours at either of these institutions are exempt from paying the application fee.
  • If you have applied within 18 months.... Students who have applied to the IUPUI within the past 18 months do not need to pay the application fee. If this applies to you, complete our application update form.

Request official transcripts

Upon submitting your application, you should contact each college or university you have attended and request an official transcript to be sent to IUPUI. This includes transcripts from institutions you enrolled at, but did not complete any courses. When in doubt, check with your previous school, and if you have a transcript on record, have it sent to our office. Download our transcript request form.

  • Transferring from another IU campus? Students who have attended an Indiana University campus do not need to submit their IU transcript; however, you will need to submit transcripts from any other schools you have attended, even if they were previously evaluated at another IU campus.

Determine if you have less than 26 transferrable credits

If you have less than 26 credits of transferrable work from a regionally accredited institution, the Admissions Committee will also need your official high school transcript to make a decision on your application. Typically, this means you have less than one year of academic courses completed.

Once all of your credentials have been received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, your application will be marked complete, and go before the Admissions Committe. Apply early! It can take as little four to six weeks to review your application and award transfer credit, and as much as six to ten weeks during our peak times as deadlines approach.

IUPUI is Indiana's premier urban research university. The campus enrolls more than 30,000 students in 21 schools and academic units.
